Here is my team’s account of what happened in the junkyard of the gods! Great job, Kieran, on writing it!
and the Huntress’ Bow
Written by Kieran
“Okay Rebecca, I have some ideas for the teams,” Kieran starts there strategy talk with the team captain.
“Let’s hear it,” Rebecca responds to her.
“Well, I was thinking you, me, and Hannah, we would be Sierra One, and travel in the center of the junkyard. Sky, Nyssa, and Kaila would be Sierra Two, and travel on the left flank. Ivy, Rodrigo, and Jk would be Sierra Three, and go on the right flank. What do you think?” Kieran resumed.
“Sounds great, let’s tell the team.”
So they told the team the plan and set off to the junkyard of the gods. They split up into their teams, totting along their prisoner with them. He would be guarded by Sierra Three.
Sierra One started down the first path. Kieran accidentally knocked over some broken shields, triggering a prototype Talos. She first cursed in ancient Greek, and then she instinctively readied her shield as she saw Talos coming, as it looked, to step on them.
“Get out of the way!” she screeched as if she were actually her mother’s sacred animal, the owl. “I’ll be fine!”
Hannah and Rebecca leaped out of the way as Kieran laid down on the ground raising her owl shield above her body for protection. Talos’s foot still nearly crushed her, though without the shield she would have been dead in an instant. Kieran leaped up as soon as Talos’s foot was off of her. One of her legs had been caught out of the protection of her shield. It was very bloody and her left arm that she still had her shield attached to was bent in an unnatural way, but she still had a determined look on her face.
“Talos is going towards Sierra Two,” Kieran inquired.
“We’ve got to get to them!” Hannah cried.
“Well I would think why he’s going over there is because they’ve got the bow, so let’s go!” Rebecca screamed.
Kieran took off towards Talos, started climbing his leg… To the controls. Rebecca and Hannah, rushed towards them knowing what she was trying to do, the same thing the Hunter of Artemis Bianca was doing… when she died.
Meanwhile Sierra Two was searching for the bow. Kaila had found the bow. She now had it in her hand. It was in its small form of a hairpin shaped like a crescent moon. Nyssa, who had been expecting to hear Talos’s loud footsteps immediately heard nothing but quite, distant screams of protest over something, was setting fire to the junk as to get Talos’s attention. Sky was now flying above the junk piles to see what was happening. She had an arrow notched on her fine, curved bow.
“Talos! He’s coming from where Sierra One is scouting!” Sky cried to her teammates.
“What!?” Nyssa and Kaila yelled back. “We have to get out of here! What was he even doing over there?”
“I don’t know,” Sky admitted. “But let’s go!”
At the same time, Sierra Three was guarding Jason, slowly searching the junkyard for the small object they sought. They wanted the son of Hermes to stop bugging them, but they couldn’t leave him in the junkyard because it wasn’t good strategy. He kept making comments that in a different light would have been funny. But right now, he was really starting to annoy them, especially Ivy. They tried to ignore him and went on searching and guarding him.
Back with Sierra One, Hannah and Rebecca were trying to get Kieran to come down, off of Talos.
“Kieran! STOP!” they screamed in unison.
“It’ll be okay, just get all of them out of the way!” Kieran shouted back.
And reluctantly that’s exactly what they did. Rebecca and Hannah raced in the other direction to find Sierra Two. They practically ran into each other.
Already holding the bow Kaila asked of the whereabouts of her sister, “Where’s Kieran?”
Talos was collapsing as Rebecca and Hannah pointed sadly to the machine. Kieran, who was still inside, was alive. But they didn’t know that.
In short time, Kieran stumbled into sight of Kaila, Nyssa, and Sky.
“Kieran!” they all cried.
“Talos! Another prototype from Hephaestus! Run!” Kieran blustered. She looked worse than she had before, she would need a lot of ambrosia, but at least she was alive.
They ran towards the exit of the junkyard, where they met up with Sierra Three. Jason had somehow slipped loose of the handcuffs and had gotten ahold of spray paint. He sprayed the pink paint across their armor. Ivy looked like she was about to explode on Jason.
“And you’ll have to deal with me until my team rescues me,” Jason taunted, sticking out his tongue.
“No one’s gonna rescue you mate, you’ll stay with us forever,” Rodrigo said in a foreboding tone.
Jason found that a little creepy. Then together, Ivy, Rodrigo, and Jk wrestled Jason back into his handcuffs.
They all went back to Camp Half-Blood, sharing stories of their experiences.
Kaila was okay except for a burn on her knee. Nyssa looked fine, but she looked as if she had fallen. Sky, Ivy, Jk, and Rodrigo looked untouched. Rebecca’s arm looked as if one of the cuts on her arm from the Niemen Lion had been redone. Hannah had a couple of scrapes on her cheek. Kieran’s leg looked VERY painful, her arm would be okay after some ambrosia, her face was bloody, and her stomach had a deep wound. She would need some rest.
Then together, they started planning for the next challenge.
