Zeus’ Master Lightning Bolt

In the newest Percy Jackson movie poster Percy is holding Zeus’ Master Lightning Bolt. Why is Percy holding it like this?

The Master Bolt is the symbol of Zeus’ power from which all other lightning bolts are patterned. It is a two-foot-long cylinder of high-grade celestial bronze capped on both ends with god-level explosives. It has enough power to make hydrogen bombs look like firecrackers. It is the first weapon made by the Cyclops for the war against the Titans. The Master bolt sheered the top off Mount Etna and hurled Kronos from his throne. In The Lightning Thief, Percy is accused of Zeus by stealing his Master Bolt. Because of this, Percy goes on a quest to retrieve the Master Bolt. Luke Castellan was actually the one who stole the bolt. Ares caught him but didn’t turn him over. Percy accused Hades at first but Hades denied it and said that his Helm of Darkness was also gone. Percy retrieves both items and returns them safely after fighting Ares who was the real thief. From  the Camp Half-blood Wiki: Link

The Plot of the movie revolves around the retrieval of the master bolt. I am unsure why Percy is holding the bolt like he is going to use it. Anyone have any ideas? Leave a comment below.
