I was browsing around in my school library the other day, and I came across something that really struck me as odd.
So I went home and did a little research. I found out that this was the original cover for The Lightning Thief, but that people didn’t really like it because it didn’t express really at all what the book was leading to. I mean, the monsters and stuff are really cool looking, but when readers opened the book and found that it was written in the first person narrated by a twelve year old boy, it kinda rubbed them the wrong way about the whole story. The publishers stopped printing this edition, and instead had John Rocco do the cover art for the book jackets, re-releasing the book with the new cover we all know and love.
