Not Percy, but Cool Fight: My Review of “The Son of Sobek”

This is my review of The Son of Sobek! It does contain spoilers so please read with caution if you don’t want to find out about the book.

The Son of Sobek started out and immediately annoyed me. Percy didn’t seem like Percy. He was a jerk! He wasn’t the carefree guy I was used to reading about. Was he having a rough day? Was he channeling Clarisse’s personality? It just didn’t seem right.

Percy mentions the Doors of Death. “Maybe you’re a spirit from the Underworld, come back through the Doors of Death?” The first time it is mentioned is in the prophecy in The Last Olympian. I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) The Son of Sobek takes place before Heroes of Olympus before the Doors were even opened. Again, Percy didn’t seem like Percy. A lot of his comments seemed forced.

The book got cooler when Percy and Carter worked together. For being short it was still a cool fight. The ending gave off a subtle mysterious tone, but it wasn’t a dramatic ending. It made me wonder who did bring the boys together? I think it all depends on Rick. If he doesn’t write a crossover of the two series then we will never know. But it is fun to think about!

As an overall I would give it two out of five stars. Worth buying? Off of Amazon its only $2.99 full price cheaper than a Starbucks, so it’s worth buying to read.

I will be putting up my review of the preview of The House of Hades soon…

*SPOILER ALERT* I read it online……it is rly good…….but there are some VRY questionable details……i’m not sure when this takes place…I think that it in between the PJO and HoO series…and It was vry prevoking……i couldn’t stop thinking about the Rick – Hanger at the end…….i mean…..C’mon!……. I hated how Percy and Carter were so mean to each other… Percy was a HUGE JERK at first and Carter was SOOOOO Ignorant and rude!!!!…It just wasn’t entirely like their characters….Oh and the fact that they didn’t share any parts of “THEIR SIDES”(their demigod/ Magician secrets) made me upset…wasn’t that the point of the story?!….TWO SIDES COLLIDING?!?!……..I also thought it may b possible someone brought them together…but who!?!?…and will Percy call on Carter in the future?!?!……..it would be a rly good series…..i think!!…………my only complaints were that it was WWWWWAAAAAAYYYYYYY too short!…..not enough detail in my opinion…..so many questions…….but barely any of them answered!!…then again…for a short story it was quite action packed……..I would LUV to read more stories like this!!……I would reccomend reading it online for FREE first b4 u go and buy it!!!!!…… :) :) :D :D
