Gods. Monsters.
And a few
unlikely heroes.
Percy thought school was complicated. Then he found out his father was Poseidon. Rick Riordan’s world puts ancient Greek mythology in modern America — where a teacher might be a centaur, a casino might trap you, and a pen might be much more than a pen.
The two movies bring that world to the screen with Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson at the heart of the adventure.

A few mortal questions
How many Percy Jackson movies are there?
There are two films in the Logan Lerman series: The Lightning Thief (2010) and Sea of Monsters (2013). The Disney+ television series is a separate adaptation.
Which movie should I watch first?
Start with The Lightning Thief, then watch Sea of Monsters. The release order also follows the story order.
Is the Disney+ show connected to the movies?
It adapts the books again with a different cast and continuity. You do not need to watch the movies before starting the show.
Are the films suitable for children?
Both films carry a US PG rating. They contain fantasy combat, monsters and peril. Check your local classification and content advice before choosing for a younger viewer.
